Introduction

While Achieve works with athletes from all sports, swimming is where we really shine. We’re the trusted coaches for some of the best high school and club swim teams in the state, including Academy Bullets Swim Club, Naperville North High School boys and girls swim teams, and Naperville Central boys and girls swim teams. We’ve also had the privilege of working with Olympic Trials qualifiers who trust us to help them perform at the highest level.

Plenty of facilities say they work with swimmers, but we’ve actually made it our specialty. You won’t find another sports performance facility that gets the unique demands of swimming like we do. We know how to assess what swimmers need, design programs that actually translate to the pool, and coach athletes of all ages to reach their potential while staying healthy. Swimming isn’t just one of our services; it’s what we’re known for.

Achieve Dryland Advantage

Good quality dryland training can be a difference-maker for so many swimmers. Improving strength, power, mobility, core strength, and shoulder health can go a long way to keeping swimmers resistant to injury as well as helping them drop time and be more efficient with their strokes. Swimming is unlike other land-based sports making training for optimal swim performance a little different from other sports. This is our specialty.

Yes, that’s totally fine. Our swimmers either will train before or after practice. It just depends on the timing. There’s no issue with training in either scenario, just get your training in consistently!

You’ll begin with an individualized warm-up that will progress to more dynamic exercises designed to increase body temperature and get you ready to train. Then, we’ll transition into power, then strength exercises. Finally, we’ll generally finish off with core work and shoulder health exercises. Everything you need to dominate in the water.

How does dryland training help reduce swimming injuries?2025-05-30T10:13:54-05:00

Swimming is a very repetitive overhead sport, so a focus on keeping shoulders healthy is key. In addition, our completely individualized approach means we’re focusing on reducing injury potential which may be specific to each athlete. Dryland training is the best opportunity you have to reverse the imbalances created by the repetitive nature of swimming.

Yes, we work with swimmers age 11+ no matter their level. We have had everyone from beginners to Olympic Trials qualifiers and everywhere in between.
